Our Story

Matchstick figures, that was the closest form of art that I dabbled in throughout my formative years growing up in Hyderabad, India. Writing has always been my creative outlet. I pursued my Post Graduation in Journalism from Symbiosis Institute of Mass Communication, Pune and worked for national newspapers like Times of India and The Hindu Business Line. In 2011, I moved to New Jersey and further explored my passion for writing and photography.
However, five years ago, I was introduced to two beautiful art forms- Zentangle and Mandala and this changed my life forever. While Zentangle gave me confidence to nurture the hidden pattern lover in me, Mandala gave me wings to fly. And just like that, I wasn't just a mother trying to find a place for herself in this crazy world. I had found one!

In 2016, when my older one was just 2 years old, I decided to participate in a Zentangle teacher training program in Rhode Island. It was a tough decision for me and the longest I had ever stayed away from my family. My loving and supportive husband took over and encouraged me to follow my dreams. I became a Certified Zentangle Teacher which was an overwhelming and all encompassing moment in my life. I gradually started taking workshops around Jersey City and began loving the experience of sharing my knowledge and spreading the sense of calm I achieved through art. From individual classes to family fun workshops, to group sessions for seniors at a community center, the thrill of teaching was unparalleled.

As life got more hectic, my love for these all-embracing art forms kept getting stronger and stronger. I grew more passionate about exploring my love for art. My doodling and experiments were no longer just that. They slowly but surely transformed into tangible creative products that I could proudly display and gift to my loved ones.  Creating TangleTime with Anushya was both challenging but immensely satisfying for me. It gave me the opportunity to come up with new ideas, create beautiful art and challenge myself to be a better version of me. It is my safe space, that gives me the pleasure of conducting interactive workshops to help others create masterpieces and feel proud of their creative achievements. TangleTime with Anushya became that outlet where I can create art that is intricately and deeply rooted in my culture, where I dare to dream, where I simply create!
